Toyota Repair: Wiper delay, toyota dealership, oem parts

Question
The wiper delay on my 2004 Avalon does not work, neither does the wiper auto sensor. We bought the car a year ago (used) at the Idaho Falls, Idaho, Toyota dealership. They told us when we bought it that the car had not been in a wreck, and even sold us the 10-year warrenty, which they said they could not do if the car had been in a wreck. We have had the car in to them at least 6 times in the past 8 months, and they have not been able to fix the wiper delay. (We live 30 miles away so can't take it there as often as we would like.) Now they say that they cannot repair the sensor and delay because the car was in a wreck, and the windshield was replaced with a non-standard windshield. They say that they can't get the delay to work until a new windshield is put in. Is this necessary? Or is there something else we can do to to make the delay work.

Answer
The solution is very simple, make an agreement with them that if replacing the windshield doesn't solve the problem you will not pay them a penny.
Something doesn't sound right, first they tell you it was not in an accident and now it was?
If they sold it to you as a "Toyota Certified Vehicle" they should replace the windshield at no charge to you because one of the conditions is that the vehicle has to have all OEM parts at the time of sale.
