Toyota Repair: 1994 Camry XLE Electrical, camry xle, informational tool

Great informational tool you provide. I have a 1994 Camry XLE, 4cyl with 143K miles. I touch the brakes and the car cuts out and needs to be jump started. Would this be an electrical problem or brake issue? The brakes only have ~6K on them and the battery is new.

The problem may be the alternator, have it checked and replace it if needed, there is a quick test you can do yourself, with the engine running disconnect the negative side of the battery, if the engine keeps running the alternator is probably not the cause, if the engine dies replace the alternator.
