Toyota Repair: Toyota CD Player, metallic content, paper ticket

In a 2001 Tacoma with Audio unit A56815, how can I reset the CD player to allow insertion of CD's?.
Details: Accidentally, I placed a paper ticket into the CD player insertion slot (no CD's were playing at the time).  The player activated as if the ticket were a CD (surprised me).  I was able to extract the paper ticket, but the CD player is still in the "CD installed" mode such that I cannot insert a CD.

I've never heard of this before, have you tried disconnecting the battery for about 10 seconds, it may reset it.
CD players can't read anything on paper unless there was some metallic content on the piece of paper I can't see how this could have happened, are you sure there is not a CD stuck inside, this is a common problem, a lot of times children will put coins in to the CD unit, just some possibilities.
