Toyota Repair: ABS light on 93 Corolla, inner fender, wheel speed

Question
The ABS light is on on my '93 Corolla.
The shop I have it at says the computer reports a wheel speed sensor problem.  To further diagnose where the problem is they say they have to take the fender off to follow the wire and check continuity.  Does this sound like the right procedure?

I think you misunderstood, the fender doesn't have to come off, the inner fender liner has to be removed to get access to the connector, this is normal diagnostic procedure, it sounds like the shop knows what they are doing and I think you should trust them.
