Toyota Repair: 99 4runner - check light - code P0171, air flow meter, phillips screws

Recently got engine check light code P0171, what can I do to correct situation and how do I reset the code once I fix the problem?  4 Runner is in CT and is a 6 cyl 4WD.

This code indicates a fuel system too lean condition, this can be remedied by removing and cleaning the air flow meter located just behind the air filter on the intake tube, it has an electrical connector and is held on with two small phillips screws, use a can of electronic parts cleaner and spry it into the small openings to clean the platinum wires from debris and dirt, blow it dry with low pressure compressed air, available at electronic stores.
You may be able to erase the code by removing the EFI fuse and waiting 10 seconds to reinstall it, if not the scantool has to be connected to clear the code.
