Toyota Repair: 1988 4Runner fuel filter, intake hoses, leak check

Question
I have a 88 4Runner, 22re engine, 5 speed, 4 cylinderand it is fuel injected(I think).  When starting it would stall after a few seconds if it stayed running and you take your foot off the accelerator it would cut off like it was not getting gas.  I replaced the fuel filter but now it won't start. It turns over but does not start. What do I need to do now?

Answer
Check the fuel pressure to make sure there is enough fuel pressure to start the engine, make sure it doesn't have fuel leak after replacing the filter at the fittings.
It sounds more like the original problem may have been an intake air leak, check the intake hoses from the air filter to the throttle body for any cracks.
