Toyota Repair: 2001 Corolla engine sputter, scantool, trouble code

I recently had my check engine signal come on and about 4 days before that my car sputtered a bit as I put the transmission into drive.  Now when I start it up the ignition takes just a second to kick in.  I am hoping it might be a misfire.  Do you have any ideas?  Thanks tons!

Yes I have plenty of ideas but only if you can give me the trouble codes that are stored in the on board computer, to do so requires that a scantool is attached to the computer to read the codes, your dealer can do this, once you know the codes, if you still need help get back to me with the trouble code output.
