Toyota Repair: 1997 CELICA CONV., expansion valve, freon

Question
I HAVE A 1997 CELICA CONV. THE A/C LIGHT IS FLASHING WHEEN COMPRESSOR IS CUT ONIT RUNS FOR MAYBE 5 SEC. AND THEN STOPS. I CHECKED THE PRESSURES AND IT CUTS OFF AT AROUND 80 ON THE LOW SIDE AND 130 ON THE HIGH SIDE. I HAVE REPLACED THE ONLY  SWITCH I CAN FIND AND STILL DOES THE SAME THING. ALSO WHEN I RLACED THE SWITCH ALL THE FREON WAS EVACED AND RECHARGED. GOOD FREON LEVEL,NEW SWITCH,PRESSURES OK BUT STILL SAME PROBLEM HELP ITS HOT!!

Answer
80 psi on the low side is way to high it should be around 30-40, I have no idea what switch you replaced, it is very possible that there is a a restriction in the system, the most common problems is a clogged expansion valve or receiver drier unit, the 130 psi on the high side is normal indicating that the compressor is not likely to be the cause.
