Toyota Repair: Power Steering Pump for 89 Toyota 4WD Pickup, vacuum hoses, toyota 4wd

Question
A few months ago I remove the power steering pump from my 89 4WD pickup with the 22RE engine.  I have now installed a new pump, but am having a problem connecting the two vacuum/air lines that come off the air sensor (I believe that is what it is - it is a cylinder attached to the back).  Can you direct me to where the other end of these two lines connect to.  I have scanned the engine, but cannot see the proper connections.  Will it harm the pump if I drive the truck w/o the lines connected to have a mechanic help me (if I cannot find the proper connections)?

Also, I have been told contrary things about bleeding the pump.  One person has said I will ruin the pump if I do not bleed it.  Another says it will just jerk a little until the air is worked out.  I plan on bleeding the pump, but would like confirmation this is necessary.

Answer
These two vacuum hoses connect to the intake chamber on the right side, near the cold start injector, the purpose is that the engine speed is raised as the power steering pump is assisting the steering so the engine won't stall.
You can drive it without the hoses but there may be a rough idle.
All you need to do to get all the air out is to start the engine and keep turning the steering wheel form lock to lock and add fluid as it goes down, eventually the noise will stop and all the air will be out of the system.
