Toyota Repair: sputtering engine?, air flow meter, vacuum hoses

Question
today I was out workin on the car(90 toyota supra) or well really cleaning it out some, but I ran it before I pulled it into the garage and started cleaning stuff out such as the air filter tubes. I get everything back on and start it and notice it's idling pretty high and think well it's just warming up. So as it gets warmer it slows down but begins to sputter. Wondering if I knocked something out of place tooling around in there. Almost positive I kept any harmful stuff out of the air filter tubes. Any ideas why it's doing this?

Answer
Let me try to understand this and correct me if I'm wrong, the engine was running normally before you started "cleaning stuff out" is this correct?
If that's the case then whatever you did has caused the problem and you need to recheck everything you did.
It sounds like there may be an air leak in the intake system so check all the connections to the throttle body and check all the breather and vacuum hoses, check to make sure the air flow meter connector is on, check anything else that you may have disconnected and forgot to reconnect.
