The vehicle will turn over but will not start. I do not have an adapter to fit to check fuel pressure, so I unhooked the fuel line and turned the vehicle over and it seems to have low fuel pressure. I removed the fuel and I know it is running. Should I replace the fuel pump but move on.
Answer -
Have you checked the more basic things like is there spark at the spark plugs? If not the distributor is the most likely cause.
To determine if the fuel pump is the problem a fuel pressure gauge has to be used, fuel pumps are expensive and not easy to replace, they are inside the gas tank which has to be removed so make sure it is the pump before replacing it.
I checked the spark last night and found I did have one. Other then change the distributor, what other componets would cause the problem.(cam or crank single)

Answer
If there is spark to the spark plugs the distributor is not the problem, there may be an engine timing problem, check to make sure the timing belt has not jumped on the gears because of a worn or loose belt, a malfunction of the crank angle sensor would turn the check engine light on, I doubt if that is the case, then there is still the possibility of low fuel pressure, I would suggest having a shop hook up a fuel pressure gauge to see if the pressure is correct, it should be around 35-43psi while cranking, I would do this first so you don't spend unessesary funds on parts that may not be the real problem.
