Toyota Repair: lights, shift indicator, light bulb

Hello To you all....I recently bought an automatic 98 Corolla LE,(68K) and noticed that at night I can not see whether it is in P, R or D, etc. I can guess at it and hope its in gear, but I prefer to see what I am shifting to. Is there a light bulb that goes under the shift casing - or do I have to resort to an alternative... Thank You.

There is a bulb under the shift console, remove the center shift console, the bulb is on the left side of the shift indicator , look for two small green wires the bulb socket is underneath the shift indicator, twist it to remove it and replace the bulb.
