Question
hello.i have a 1993 toyota sr5 4 by 4 5spd with 200,000 kilometers on it.Ijust bought this truck and when i am moving slow and turn the steering wheel fully to the left eg;(u turn)i hear a sharp, quick clunk sound from the left front wheel area,if i back off the steering just a little theres no sound at all.All other aspects of the driveline, steering and suspension are smooth and quite, any ideas?  thank you!

Answer
Check the steering stops they need to be lubricated with grease, you will find the stop plates on the lower control arms there is one in the front and one in the back on each side, you will see the steering stops that contact the stop plates on the steering knuckles, they should have teflon caps on the ends, if not you can get them at the toyota dealer, I can email an illustration to you but I will need an email address.
