Car Stereos: amp, contact point, fusebox

Question
what if it was just working,but it stopped so i tightend the ground and it work but it stopped again

Answer
hi ricky,
you did not state if you are using a factory deck or an aftermarket deck....

you were not specific with what brand, how old the amp is, how many speakers,if the amp is running mids/highs or subs,etc....it is very difficult to troubleshoot without specifics......

i always recommend checking ALL connections, not just the ground. make sure you have a good contact point for the ground and make sure the ground wire or any other wire is not being pinched anywhere it runs.

be sure you are getting the right amount of voltage for the remote turn on for the amplifier....if you are not using the remote turn on lead from the headunit(aftermarket only) you may not be getting enough power to the amp turn on.

if you are using the factory deck, you may have found a +Power source that switches on and off with the ignition like an acc out on the fusebox, but it may simply be too little voltage. the remote turn on lead still needs a +12v input.

if all wiring is well and intact, the amp may need to be replaced.

try the basics with the wiring and also be sure to check if the amp goes into a safe/protect mode.....

let me know.....
