Questionthe car is a 98 toyota rav 4, its a 4cylc, when i start the car it sounds like it will almost start, like i'm not giving it enough gas. when i tried to fill the coolant it was full.

Hi i was driving and the car over heated and the heater went cold and the car just died. i put oil and anti coolant in to see if it would work, but failed, instead the A/T oil temp light came on when i try to start the car. i don't know whats wrong

I need to know more about the vehicle, what year,model,engine(4cyl or V-6)what happens when you try to start the car, is there any noise, does the engine crank over with the starter?
When the coolant was added did it leak out anywhere?
AnswerThe most common problem with the stalling condition is the idle speed control valve located on the throttle body, the throttle body will need to be removed and the ISC valve seperated from the throttle body and both have to be cleaned thoroughly, this normally fixes the stalling and low idle problem.
