Toyota Repair: 1995 Toyota 4Runner Backup Lights, toyota 4runner, fuse box

Question
The backup lights on my 1995 Toyota 4Runner Limited stopped working.  I have a manual transmission.  I replaced the lights, but they still don't work.  I tried checking the fuses, but the fuse box under the hood and the other one inside the cab near the clutch do not seem to house the fuse for the backup lights.  I noticed in the manual that there is another fuse box behind the glove compartment, but have had trouble gaining access to this fuse box.  Do you know if this is where the fuse to the backup lights are located? If so, how do I get to the fuse box? Does it sound like the fuse might be the problem, or could it be the wires connecting the gear shift to the lights, or something completely different?  If it is these wires, is this something I should take into the shop to fix or is it a relatively painless process.  I am decently competent with mechanical things, but do not want to screw up the electrical system or gear shift.  There have been no prior electrical problems with the truck.

Answer
This is a very simple circuit, the backup lights get their current throught the 10A gauge fuse, it's in the dash, if the fuse is good the problem may be in the backup light switch located on the right side of the transmission, it has two wires going to it,try replacing the switch, if that doesn't fix the problem there is a wiring problem, if you need a wirind diagram I can send it to you but I need an email address.
