Toyota Repair: 1999 toyota 4Runner heater control, toyota 4runner, lever moves

I own a 1999 Toyota 4Runner 4wd 4cyl with about 115,000 - I've had it since it was new - the heater temp control broke when I turn it either towards the far cold or far warm it resists and just clicks but does not change temp - is there a repair or is it difficult to replace? I need the heat badly!

First check under the dash on the right side if the cable is connected to the lever, if it is disconnect it and make sure the control lever moves without binding up, if it does the problem is in the control unit and the entire control unit with the cables has to be replaced.
