Toyota Repair: miles per gas, fuel management system, toyota corolla

Question
I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla LE. According to the manunfacturer specifications, it should have am EPA of 30/38 mpg. I have been driving this car for 6 months now, I never got more than 28/35 mpg. Is this something that should concern me? Should I go and have my car checked? Is this kind of problem covered by the manufactorer warranty?
Thanks you so much,
Gilbert

Answer
Mileage may vary depending on driving habits and conditions, I think that's the standard disclaimer, you are only a couple of mpgs off according to your calculations, you can take it to the dealer if you like and they will probably run a fuel consumption test and tell you there is no problem, they can also retreive information from the on board computer to see if there is a potential problem, if there was any problem with the fuel management system there would be a check engine light on,so somehow I don't think that there is a problem here.
