Toyota Repair: 4 Runner alternator, battery cables, 4 runner

Question
Hello, Ted, I've been losing power in my 4 runner (4x4 6cyl.) so I recently replaced the battery and battery cables but now the battery light and brake lights keep coming on intermittently. Would you give me instructions on how to change the alternator? And also tell me what else could be making the battery and brake lights come on?

Answer
The problem is the alternator and you need to replace it, disconnect the battery, remove the 10mm nut on top of the alternator that connects the electrical connector, remove the 12mm adjusting bolt on the bracket just below the alternator and loosen the 14mm bolt on the alternator mount, move the alternator to get the belt off and then remove the 14mm bolt and the alternator will come out.
