Toyota Repair: Toyota PU Battery, heat radio, dash light

Question
1995 Toyota PU - Today I noticed some white build-up on my Battery terminal, so I poured some cola on the terminals and cleaned them, with one of the terminals disconnected.  Now the car won't start and, while all the normal lights, heat, radio come on when I put the key in, the truck won't start or even click.  Now when I hook up the battery terminals, without the key in, it makes a clicking noise like the turn signal is on, and the dash light blinks, and there is a beeping coincident with the clicking.  Any thoughts on what I have done?  Thanks a lot.

Answer
Check to see if there is an alarm system, it may have armed when you reconnected the battery, try doing the folowing:
Remove one of the terminals
Open the left door and put the ignition key in the ON position
Leave the door open
Reconnect the battery and start the engine
I can't guarantee that this will work, it depends on the type of system it is.
