Toyota Repair: Previa Dashboard Light, control knobs, dashboard light

Question
Ted,
I followed your instructions removing the knobs and then prying the right side of the control panel.  The panel becomes free to about 1/4" away from the dash then jams.  The left side of the control panel is completely frozen.  It appears that something is holding it in place.  Continuing to pry on the right causes the plastic to flex too much.  Please advise.

I have a 1993 Previa with a small problem.  The bulb has gone out behind the dashboard controls.  Specifically, the top of the center console (i.e., the temperature controls).  The controls lower down in the center console are fine.  My  husband offered to change the bulb (he already checked the fuses) but cannot figure out how to get behind the dash.  Can you help?
1993 Previa, 135,000, automatic, 4wd.
Thank you.

Pull off the control knobs, then remove the indicator panel by prying on the right side, it will pop off, the bulb is located underneath, just pull the bulb out and install a new one, the bulb will have a green cover on it, remove it and put it on the new bulb.

Answer
Sorry to take so long to get back to you, the cup holder has to be removed, pull it out and depress the top of it on both sides with a screwdriver while pulling, there are two screws from underneath that have to be removed then remove the top fuse cover in the middle of the dash just above the heater controls, look for a plastic tab on the front and press it, the fuse cover will come off, there are two more screws there that need to be removed then the panel around the control panel should come off and you can then remove the cover for the controls.
