Toyota Repair: Check engine light, toyota dealer, scantool

I have a 2001 Sienna & the check engine light just came on. The car has 34500 miles on it. What is my option? What do I look for under the hood?

You will need to have it checked at either a toyota dealer or an independent shop, they can hook up the diagnostic scantool to retreive the diagnostic trouble code stored in the computer, I would recommend you have the toyota dealer do this because it could still be covered under warranty.
