Toyota Repair: Toyota Sienna, rear quarter panel, door latch

Question
I have two questions:
1.  The back hatch door latch on my 2000 Sienna van has broken (cracked).  Is this a difficult repair to do at home?  I can be patient, all panels, order part, then put back together.  However if an expert tells me that it is too difficult I will bring in for service.  Any advise/diagrams would be helpful.

2.  My automatic door has had an intermmitent problem for many years.  It will open with ease, but sometimes it will not close.  The problem usually "goes away" but lately it has been happening more often.  When I push the door button (at door, remote or dash) sometimes I just hear a "click".  It sounds like a relay in the rear quarter panel.  Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting?

Thanks

Answer
Two very common issues with the Siennas, the door can be opened by inserting a small hook into the opening nest to the handle and hooking it to the release lever(tricky, but it can be done)pull on it and it will release, then the door panel has to come off and the handle replaced, not that difficult.
Toyota has issued numerous service bulletins regarding the door problems so I suggest that you have the dealer check this out, one of the most common problems is the door control ECU(computer)replacing it normally fixes the problem but before that, close the door, turn the main switch to the off position, wait for ten seconds, turn the key on , turn the main switch on, open the door with the switch, close the door with the switch, this should initializr the computer, if this doesn't help let me know.
