Toyota Repair: Maintenance required Indication light, 2004 toyota highlander, odometer reading

Question
I have a 2004 Toyota Highlander. A maintenance required Indicator light on the instrument cluster is on (the car has 5000 miles) The owners manual says this light is a reminder that an oil change is due. I change oil myself ( approx. every 2500 mi) My question is, Can I,  or do I need to reset this reminder light?

Answer
Here is how you reset the light:
Turn the ignition key on
Make sure the "ODO" indicator is on(not the trip meter)
Push the trip meter reset button in and hold it in
Turn the key off
Turn the key back on
The odometer and the maint light will flash and then stop and the odometer reading will go back to normal
Turn the key off and then start the engine.
