Toyota Repair: 89 Supra Stalls at 2000 rpm, fuel delivery system, spark plug wire

Question
My 1989 Supra (auto, non turbo) is dying at around 2000 rpm. I replace the air intake sensor about one year ago. Do you think this is a air intake problem or a fuel problem?  The car starts right back up after stalling but will sputter and die at 2000 rpm.

Thanks,
Rod

Answer
Air intake problems affect idle more than anything else so I don't think it's your problem, there could be many things causing this, most likely related to the fuel delivery system, try replacing the fuel filter.
Have the fuel pressure checked.
Is there also an engine misfire, these engines are known for leaking valve cover gaskets, if they are leaking oil will get into the center where the spark plug wire connectors connect to the spark plug and cause them to short out and cause a miss but I have not seen this cause an engine to completely stall.
