Toyota Repair: 1991 Celica Stalling :(, toyota celica, temperature gauge

Question
Hi! i have spent many hours online trying to find some sort of answer to my problem and have found you, hoping to get some help. i have a 1991 toyota celica (standard automatic transmission) and the problem is that my car stalls. ALOT. when i first got the car about a year ago it idled really really high and when i turned on the air condition it would go down to a normal idle so i never worried about it. but now my car idles so low that when im just coming to a stop at stop sign or a stop light or even by braking to turn a corner it just DIES..it has no problem starting back up but keeps stalling!! and turning on or off the air doesnt make any difference now. i have no clue why it is doing this or  why it idled so high when i first got the car but now wont idle normal at all.i dont think it has anything to do with the temperature becuase it does it regardless of whethter it is hot or cold and my temperature gauge never goes above normal but i am very frusterated and trying to find some assistance, if there is any way you can help me i greatly appreciate it!!! thank you very much for your time

Answer
The problem may be an air leak between the air filter and the throttle body, there is a large rubber connecting hose that can develop cracks or become lose at the throttle body or crack there, any air leak between the air cleaner and the throttle body will cause idling and stalling problems, that's the place you need to start looking for the problem.
