Toyota Repair: 1995 Toyota Tercel Repair, 1995 toyota tercel, toyota tercel

Question
I have a 1995 Toyota Tercel sedan 156,000 miles, that has the following problems. Please advise. Thank you.

Dash lights and tail lights not working. Each time I replace the fuse it blows instantly.

Rear seat cushion is not bolted down from previous owner. How can I fix or do I need to take it in to be repaired.

Rear engine main oil seal leak. Estimates range in the $500 price range which I cannot afford to do. Can I just keep adding oil to it - I go through about a 1 qt. between oil changes? or am I ruining the rest of the engine doing that.

Thank you for your time.

Answer
There is probably an electrical short circuit in the tailights, the tailight bulb sockets can cause the problem, remove the tail light bulb holders and remove all the bulbs, put in a new fuse, if it doesn't blow your on the right track, wjile all the bulbs are out, check the sockets for any burned areas or loose ground wire connections, with the headlights still on install new bulbs one by one until the fuse blows, this is the one that has the problem.
You can just keep adding oil, on quart in about 1000 miles is considered normal so it can't be leaking that bad.
I normally don't recommend this but you can try adding some additive from one of the autoparts places.
