Toyota Repair: crank pulley removal, lexus sc300, crank pulley

Question
I have a Lexus sc300 (straight 6) that I am doing a timing belt replacement.  I am at the stage of removing the bolt for the Harmonic balancer (crank pulley).  I can not remove this bolt.  My belief is that it should be loosened with counter clockwise movement (normal treads).  Also it is hard to keep the engine from rotating and therefore less torque is applied to the bolt.  I have pile extensions on my wrench and a slip wrench on the pulley.  Any suggestions?

Answer
These bolts can be extremely tight(more than 300ft/lbs) it may require a 3ft breaker bar while holding the pulley with a chain wrench, this is one of the reasons I never recommend doing this yourself because you will spend a lot of money on tools just to get this one bolt off.
