Toyota Repair: a/c & ball bearing, toyota rav 4, front wheel bearing

Question
I have a 99 Toyota RAV-4 with about 50,000 miles.  It is a stick shift.  I bought it a year ago and have a few questions.  My AC is working but does not get very cold.  What is the problem?  Is this something I may be able to fix myself with little knowledge of auto repair?  My other question is about my front left wheel bearing.

I recently did not pass inspection because I need my front wheel bearing replaced.  The dealership told by boyfriend that brought my car in for me that it was not dangerous to drive on.  My appointment to have it fixed is not for another week and a half and I drive about 60 miles each day.  What can happen if it gets worse?  How does a wheel bearing break anyway?  Could the bumpy dirt road I live on have anything to do with it?

Answer
A/c problems are very hard to diagnose here, the first step of any a/c repair is to check the line pressures, this will tell the tech what may be the problem with the system, I don't think it is something that can be done by yourself, I recommend that you contact either the toyota dealer or any qualified a/c repair shop to diagnose the system, there are just too many possible problems that could be the case here.
Wheel bearings sometimes just wear out and cause a noise, eventually the noise will get louder and in the end it may seize up and lock up the wheel, I think it will be OK to drive until you have it fixed when you have the appointment in a week and a half.
