Question
Can you tell me why my truck pings Ive tried better gas and changed the timing on matter what I do it still pings. Also Is there a bearing on the inside of the stiring nuckel where the front drive axle goes in to it. thanks Randy

Answer
There could be excessive carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, this will increase compression and also extra heat which causes preignition, the remedy is to remove the cylinder heads and remove all the carbon deposits from the chambers and the top of the pistons, you can try to run some chemical through the intake, there are carbon cleaning chemicals available at most autoparts stores, you hook up the bottle to the intake system and run the engine, follow the directions, it's worth a try and if it helps you know you are going in the right direction.
