Toyota Repair: 91 Toyota Camry passenger window, jumper wires, toyota camry

Question
Ted,
First, thanks for being avaiable to us novices. My daugther just bought the car above and the window is down and will not come up. It worked yesterday. I have removed the door panel and released the motor thinking this is the problem but in reading on the web it seems the lift mechanism might be the issue. Window seems to be frozen in position, I am not able to manually move the window now that I can access the window thru the door panel.

Door locks work from passenger side.
All other windows operate up and down from driver switch
Passenger window does not operate from either switch driver or passenger switch.
When I operate the switch from the passenger side I hear the motor receiving a signal from switch but only on the down signal and no movement on either up or down signal.

Thanks in advance Mike

Answer
First eliminate the window motor as a possible cause, you can do this by disconnecting the connector from the motor(large green and red wires)apply twelve volts across the terminals on the motor side of the connector the motor should move, if not, reverse the jumper wires and it may move, if it doesn't move in either direction, replace the motor, if the window tries to move but gets stuck the window regulator needs to be replaced, in case the window goes up and down when applying voltage to it, there is a problem with either the window master switch or the passenger side switch.
