Toyota Repair: Replacing front wheel lug bolt, wheel alignment, lug bolt

Question
1989 Cellica. After wheel alignment, the mechanic installed nut cross threaded. many miles later,I tried removing to rotate tire, the bolt sheared. Tried to remove assy by removing the axel nut but the assy will not come off. I Don't want to damage anything. What's the trick to realease it?

Answer
The studs are pressed into the hub, they can be replaced by hammering the old one out, remove the brake rotor and caliper so that only the backing plate remains, line the broken stud up with a cutout on the steering knuckle and it will come out, to install the new stud put it in from behind the axle hub then install a spacer on the threaded part, put on a wheel nut and tighten it until the stud pulls through and bottoms out against the hub, the main difficulty is holding the hub while tightening the nut so you'll have to find a way to do that, we use air tools to do this so I don't know of any way to clamp the hub to keep it from moving unless you reinstall the rotor and caliper and have someone step on the brake pedal while tightening the nut, this may work.
