Toyota Repair: Post-storage (?) procedures, corolla dx, goodyear regatta 2

Question
Hi Paul,
I just purchased a 1994 Corolla DX automatic 4 speed, that is truly a "twilight zone" car.  It's as if the person who had it before me bought it and never drove it. Other than a very minor ding on the front hood, it looks like it was just driven off the showroom floor.  There is absolutely no dirt or rust on the engine, the fluids are sparkling clean, dipstick bright and shiny, brake pads as new. Even the tires look original (Goodyear Regatta 2, if I recall?), show no signs of wear or dry rot. (I bought this car from a friend who gets impounded cars at auction, so other than a CarFax report that indicates it had 6700 miles in April 2000, I know nothing of the vehicle's history.  I'm dumbfounded as to how/why it made its way to the impound lot- but that's another question). It drives like a new car(drove it about 40 miles), and has a grand total of 9695 miles on the odometer, and from the look of the interior, brake pedal and accelerator pads, and the undercarriage, I assume this to be the actual mileage.  My question: Seeing as this car has essentially sat for 10 years, other than changing the oil (which I normally do every 3500-4000 miles), what else should I look at?  Change trans. fluid? Service injectors? What about brake fluid and coolant?  CV joints? As I said, all fluids look "new". The only thing I had done, as indicated when undergoing state inspection, is to have the right rear wheel bearing replaced as it was a little noisy. Any thoughts?  I've bought lots of used cars before (3 Corollas!), but have NEVER accounted anything as weird as this.

Thanks for any advice you may offer!

Answer
wow nice catch!.
seriously i would flush all fluids; tranny, coolant, brake and power steering. remember all fluids have a life span. and i would do the timing belt and the cam and crank seal just to be safe;again they have a life span too and being that the car is 10 years old belts do rott over time. i would also change the spark plugs and clean the linkage on the throttle. besides that just give it a good look over!
Congrats again on a good find i would hold on to it. paul p. also check the cv joints for dry rott.
