Toyota Repair: 1986 Toyota Truck Carburetor Adjustment, adjustment screw, white paint

Question
I have a 1986 toyota truck, short-bed, 22r engine.  I just put a new carburetor in it and the thing runs too lean, it is hard to start.  And even after it is warmed up and running, when coasting before accelerating it loses power.  How can I adjust the carburetor to make it run more rich?

There are two screws on the side, one is for adjusting the idle (which I have done)and the other screw is an adjustment screw (signified as adjustable by the manufacturer with white paint on the screw).  Is this second screw one I can adjust for a richer mixture
... and if so, how far should I turn it left or right (1/4 turn?  Half turn?)

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Keith

Answer
The mixture adjustment screw only affects the idle mixture it has no effect once the throttle is past the idle stage, in order to make it run richer you will have to enlarge the primary jet in the float bowl, I suspect there may be a problem with the rebuilt carb, check to make sure that the float level is correct, check the sight glass, the fuel level should be about half way up.
