Toyota Repair: rav4 sunroof, rav 4 toyota, loud noise

What could the problem be with my 1997 rav 4 toyota sunroof that it won't close when i turn the car off it retracts all the way open. it won't close when the car is on either. it has approx. 93k miles on it it is a four door but don't know the engine size or anything.thanks for your help if you can .

There are two areas that can cause this, one of the sunroof cables may have broken or the sunroof computer malfunctioned, most of the time if there is a broken cable there will be a loud noise when trying to operate the sunroof, although I have not experienced this problem on a RAV-4 my guess would be that the computer is malfunctioning.
