Toyota Repair: brake caliper, brake caliper, toyota rav4

Question
hi Ted,
I recently changed my front brake pads on my '96 Toyota Rav4.  I got the car used with 80,000 miles.  I found the inside pad on the passenger was thinner than the outside one.  The driver side pads seem about equal thickness.  I think the piston is sticking and not retracting correctly on the passenger side.  Is there a way to correct this or do i have to buy a new caliper for the passenger side?

One of the person I talked told me to replace the caliper and another said, I do not have to replace the caliper but to grease the floating pins.

Thank you in advanced for your help!

Answer
I have "NEVER EVER" replaced a toyota caliper because the piston was sticking, I tend to agree with the last opinion you got, make sure the floating caliper pins are free and lubricated and put on new pads, uneven pad wear is not uncommon, don't waste your money buying new calipers.
