Toyota Repair: bad battery or engine wont start, jumper cables, starter solenoid

Question
Dear sir

I own a 94 toyota pickup with a 3.0 v-6 it has been a great truck.  Recently I went on vacation for 2 weeks, I parked the truck fine.  When I came back to try to start it the dome light would not come on, nothing.  So I tryed to jump it, I got electric power but no start.  So I bought a new battery.  Well I reconnected it and nothing still but electric power and no engine start.  I did the coke on the cables, made sure everything was clean and looked good.  But nothing, I am now stumped.  Maybe a starter or starter solenoid I am not sure.  Please help, thank you very much.

Answer
Is it possible that when you jumped the battery that could have hooked the jumper cables up backwards, this is what typically happens.
Check the large plastic covered fuses in the fuse block under the hood, especially the 100amp alternator fuse, when this happens the EFI fuse along with some other fuses also blow, so check them all.
