Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): snapper slipping, snapper rider, clutch cable

Question
Hi, Thanks for the help. Yes ,there is free play in the clutch cable. The drive disc doesn`t have allen screws holding it in place but a single bolt. I think the way the disc is taken off / adjusted is with a puller bolt. A longer version of the 7/16" fine thred that is on there. I could be wrong. Got a longer bolt but haven`t tried it yet. Serial  # is 92so40998627. Thanks. Tom

Hello, I have a 10 hp Snapper rider 13 years. Well cared for and kept in my garage. It started slipping at the beginning of the season going up grades. I replaced the rubber drive wheel but it didn`t help. It works fine in gear 4 and 5 but that`s too fast. The owners manual is no help. Could you help with this? I hear there is a way to lower the drive disc, but I remover the large center nut and can`t move the disc. Thanks, Tom

 Hello Tom:

Is there Free Play in the Clutch Cable when the Clutch is Released? Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower, Please. With these Nimbers I can View a Breakdown of the Mower and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

Answer
 Hello Tom:

Have you Checked the Clutch/Brake Spring? The Drive Disc is Not Really Designed to Be Lowered. It is Supposed to Be Replaced when Worn. On your Mower it can Be Lowered by Adding a Flat Washer inside the Disc Recess. This will Space the Disc Lower by the Thickness of the Washer. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Yhanks.

 Good Luck
