Question
I have a 89 Camry which is automatic but I have to shift it many times from Low1 up to Drive.  It shifts fine in auto and runs smooth.  I Have been shifting it for a longtime but, gets annoying.  You asked me what the fluid looks like(It is reddish with a brown tint but I added some fluid trying to free the controllor for the tranny which, was advice from a guy who has worked on tranny's for 29yrs-but out of business now.  Car has 137K & always ran sluggish from 1990.  I just had it in a tranny shop for 9 days & they gave it back to me and said they couldn't fix, take it somwhere else.  They did mention earlier in the week that they were not getting 12 volts(Broken wire or computer but found them to be ok. I don't want to invest in new tranny. Never told it was difinetly it.  Thanks

Answer
POSSIBLY A BAD OR FAULTY VAVLE BODY... HAVE YOU HAD THE TRANNY
flushed? it's the best thing you can do for it. it can't hurt! $100.00 and it cleanes the whole tranny and exchanges all the fluid not what is in the pan! i'd do that first !
get back to me
