my driver's side electric window is slow to go up and takes several attempts tp get all the way up...what do I replace?
Answer -
You didn't say what year or model but most of the time the window regulator is binding up or the motor is failing, on some model toyotas the regulator and motor come as one piece.
After the door panel is off inspect the window glass guides and replace any that may be deformed.

Its a 1999 Toyota Sienna. Can you tell me the best place to buy either a regulator or motor or both? Thanks
Answer -
Thanks for the additional information, now I can tell you that I'm almost 100% sure that the motor is bad, fairly common on the Siennas.
The best place to buy it and as far as I know the only place you can get it is from the Toyota parts department.
The motor comes seperate from the regulator.

Thanks...I was afraid you'd say that! They want $260 for one and that doesn;t include installation. Do you think its a job a "reasonably" bright guy can handle? Any special tools? Just asking for an opinion. thanks Bob

Answer
No special tools are involved just some common hand tools, the best way to do this is to disconnect the window glass from the regulator, there are two 10mm bolts that hold it on, you'll have to line these up with the access holes in the door panel and remove them then just pull the glass up and out of the way. After that you can remove the window regulator, all the bolts are 10mm in size and are easy to locate.
