Toyota Repair: Blue Smoke, engine heat &Coolant bubling, head gasket problem, radiator coolant

Question
What's happening here. Blue smokey exhaust, smells like engine is real hot and when you open radiator, coolant is bubling. Is it the thermostat or plugged lines? Just changed catylitic converter last week. HELP!
Thanks,

Answer
Hello Rose, welcome to my expert page.
Blue smoke is normally caused by oil getting into the combustion chamber but it will not cause overheating, it is possible that the headgasket may be the problem, but beforewe assume the worst, change the thermostat it may be stuck closed, if that doesn't help have it checked for a possible head gasket problem or maybe a clogged up radiator.
