I have a Toyota Camry, 1996  My car starts fine and drives OK at a continuous pace for 1/2 hour on the beltway. The car then idles when stopped at light with stop and go traffic. It does start again. ue to this problem I took it in for repair yesterday and they repaired an air induction hose and cleaned throttle.  I also had an oil change and emissions inspection.  I still had the problem on the way home.

Hello Sherri,
I dont see a question here, what exactly is the problem you are having?
Thanks, Ted.
The problem is that the car dies after I stop at a light or in local traffic.  Tues. nite it died 3 or 4 times and did start up again. (after I have been travelling at 60 mph for 20 or so minutes)  Last nite it did not die.  Please advise.

Answer
Thank you for the reply, there have been some problems with the idles speed control valves on both the 4cylinder and v-6 models, the remedy, if this is the case, is to remove the throttle body and then remove the isc valve and clean or replace it, cleaning it is much cheaper, the valve costs about $225, in most cases cleaning the valve solves the problem.
