Toyota Repair: oil leak, valve cover gasket, toyota celica

Question
I am working on a 1981 toyota celica for my sister. The car has a BAD oil leak. Unfortunately it has been leaking for a while. The whole engine bay has oil on it even the under side of the hood.
I replaced the valve cover gasket already. I think the leak is on the front of the engine since it seems to get on the pulleys and fan then gets thrown every where!!! The only other thing I can think of on the front of the engine is the seal around the front of the crank. That is more than I am willing to get into. The engine is 4 cylinder not sure of the size but I think it is a 1.4 liter? Is there any other place the oil can be coming from?

Thanks

Joel

Answer
Hello Joel, welcome to my expert page.
The front crankshaft(oil pump) seal is the most likely cause, not something you want to be involved in replacing unless you have all the tools, find a shop that is willing to do this at a reasonable cost, $150-200 seems fair.
