Toyota Repair: Transmission wont engage after replacing engine, good luck jack, toyota celica

We have replaced a blown engine in a 1995 Toyota Celica.  The engine started just fine but now the transmission won't engage in any gear.  The transmission fluid doesn't even get warm and I did notice that the level of transmission fluid on the dip stick showed way above the mark. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are to many possibilities to consider. They range from: did you bolt the touque convertor to the flex plate to the shifter being connected to the trans.
You really need someone local to help you out.
