Toyota Repair: I have a 1994 Toyota Camary..., toyota camary, cv joint

Question
I have a 1994 Toyota Camary with 160,000 miles. I am replacing the rigth drive axle.I have the wheel side removed. I have removed the center bearing bolt and the snap-ring.The manual tells you to detach the interediate shaft from the differential side gear, grasp the shaft firmly and pull. I cant get the shaft out. I was told there is a snap ring on the end of the shaft and it can hang up which makes it hard to get the shaft out. Is there a special tool to pull the shaft or what way do you suggest to remove the shaft.
  thank you

Answer
There is a snap ring on the inside of the shaft in the transmission but it cannot be removed because it is inside the transmission, normally the axle will pop out by turning it in different positions and continually prying with two prybars between the transmission housing and the inner cv joint.
