Toyota Repair: carb, toyota truck, plunger

Question
I have a 86 toyota truck that I just rebuilt the carb on. the problem is that it is hard to start when it is cold. the electric choke is working, it acts as it is not getting any gas. I have check the float adjustmentand it is right. I am at a loss I usally have no problems with rebuilding carb but this is stumping me. Any ideas on what the problem is ?

Answer
There may be a problem with the accelerator pump circuit, check to see if the pump is getting gas into the venturi, if not take off the carb top and make sure the pump plunger is good and that the check ball on the bottom is free, you can remove it by pulling out the retaining spring, pull the check ball out with a magnet, I think this is where your problem is.
