How do you replace a radio antenna on a 1973 4 Runner?

The antenna is located in the right fender area. You will have to lower the inner fender to gain access to the antenna mount. Then once you get that far, if you are lucky there is a disconnect for the main antenna wire lead to the radio. My guess is that the wire runs from there to the radio which will then need to be removed to replace the lead. It's not one of our most fun jobs but after doing it enough it's not too bad. If you have not taken the radio out before I don't suggest you do this on your own since most of the right side of the instrument panel has to come off to gain access to the radio.
