Tractor Repair: 3000 ford tractor hydraulic

Takes a long time for hydraulic to start working
 once it starts working works ok.  Sometimes have to bleed the
 pump.  Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.  What
 could be the problem?

My bet is, Gilbert, that your hydraulic pump is on it's last gasp, and needs a total rebuild. BUT. Before you do that, make sure your hydraulic system is clean, new filters, and that all your hydraulic connections are tight tight tight so you are not allowing air into your system.
