Question
hello.i have one case5150 tractor with some problems.first problem was the diferential.i changed the damaged pinions and tractor is moving now but when i start the motor, yellow light become on.i press clutch pedal and i counting 5 flashes.when i depress tractor start moving, and when i turn steering to max left or right the yellow light turn on again .the lift also cant lift something heavy and after the oil is warm i cant move the tractor.is posible that this problems to come from 1 switch ,bypass or something like that or hydraulic pump is damaged?thank you again for yor help

Answer
It is impossible to diagnose without hooking up gauges and checking pressures to narrow down the problem.  Anytime the tractor stops moving when turning the steering all the way left or right, the steering pressure and high standby pressure are too close to each other.  The high pressure standby should be 2850 psi and the steering pressure should be 2400 psi.  So there should be 450 psi difference between them.  If they are too close, the steering priority valve will send all the oil to steering and not enough to anything else including the transmission.  There are lots of things that can cause pressure problems.  Plugged filter or suction screen, worn pump, bad compensator valve, signal check valves, etc.  Charge pump pressure should be around 50 psi, and transmission pressure should be around 300 psi, low pressure around 650 psi, and high pressure standby 2850 psi.  If the hitch can't lift anything heavy, there are more problems than just the transmission pressure.  The pump flow and pressure need to be checked to find the problem.
