Tractor Repair: IH 674 Shift Pattern, shift levers, speed lever

Question
I have a friend that is looking at an IH 674 to buy.  Problem is neither he, or the fellow selling it, know how to shift it.  I've been searching online for awhile now, found lots of info about the IH 674, just not how to shift it.  If you could let me know, or show me a website that would have that info, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You

Answer
Normally there are decals next to the shift levers to show you the shift pattern, but sometimes the decals fade with age and are unreadable or the machine has been painted and did not get new decals put on.  I don't know of a website that would show you the shift pattern.  There are a couple different configurations on this model.  There are 2 shift levers on the left side of the seat.  The inside lever is the range lever and the outside lever is the speed lever.  The speed lever has 4 positions and shifts gears 1-2-3-4.  The range lever can have 3 positions, neutral, lo range, and high range.  With this setup, the forward and reverse lever is on the dash on the left side of the steering wheel.   Or the range lever can have 4 positions in an h pattern and has neutral, hi, lo, and reverse.
